New credit card security features coming to the Personal Property Registry and Title Check online services

On July 29 we will be implementing additional Moneris credit card security features in our Title Check and Personal Property Registry applications to improve security for our clients and prevent the unauthorized usage of credit cards. These changes will require those using VISA or MasterCard to pay for searches or registrations to input some additional information.

Users will be asked to enter:

  • Name of the cardholder;
  • Credit card number;
  • Expiry date; and
  • CVV number.

Once this information is entered, if the credit card issuer requires Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode security, the user may be redirected to their secure site to enter additional confirmations.

As a result of these enhanced security features, and to comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements from the PCI Security Standards Council, client service staff will not be able to process client card transactions over the phone, through chat or by email.

Please note that these changes may impact automated systems being used for Personal Property Registry transactions.

If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact our Client Service Team at clientservice@teranet.ca or 1-844-737-5684.
